Best of the Bowties - Gilmore Museum

Great event to attend coming up at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, Michigan.  The Best of the Bowties. Team Lingenfelter is a big Bowtie family!! 

The event runs from 9am-4pm.  Lawn parking available to show off your Corvette or Camaro!!

Dash plaques given to the first 150 show vehicles to enter the gate!

We just attended the MCACN Show a few weeks ago at the Gilmore Museum and have to say their new exhibit in the lobby featuring wagons is outstanding.  

Station wagons were not only family vehicles but also symbols of American suburban life. They were featured prominently in movies, television shows, and advertisements, portraying a sense of family togetherness and adventure.

In the 1970's they evolved from boxy, utilitarian vehicles with wood paneling to more streamlined designs. They represented the peak of family-oriented vehicle design before the rise of minivans and SUVs began to shift consumer preferences. This curator at Gilmore did a nice job picking a wagon from each significant era.

Ken and I have been to the Gilmore several times and always look forward to walking through all the buildings, hearing new stories and seeing friends.    

Are you a wagon fan?  This is a really nice exhibit with lots of interesting information on the cars and the eras. 

And the grill was fired up outside, burgers and all.  The Diner was open for a wide variety menu and deserts. Just a fun visit.
