Indy 500 - Team Lingenfelter Recap

Indy 500 - Team Lingenfelter Recap - The day started out overcast and the rain was inevitable.

The rain held off for a few hours in the morning and we were able to walk around.  Very excited the top 8 cars in the grid were all Chevy's!! We checked out the grid, checked out the pace car and met up with friends and then started planning our rain strategy.

Our first stop was the main Chevy display. Checking out all the new Chevy products and colors and Corvettes was the highlight.

Checked out the E-Ray Indy 500 Pace car in the Chevy display before it made its way to the track.  Sarah Fisher had quite a bit of seat time in the pace car at the wheel leading the pack.

There was a four hour rain delay.  We got a chance to meet the Thunderbird pilots and so inspired that two of them were women.  What a fly over!! Not once, but three times.

The race was equally exciting, several drivers led the race throughout the 200 laps.  The last few laps were standing, cheering, jumping watching the lead change from corner to corner.  In the end Team Chevy driver Joseph Newgarden passed Pato O'Ward on the final lap for the back to back win.

The track museum was not open and is scheduled to open Summer 2025.  We're looking forward to the grand opening!!

And we stopped by the Wall of Gratitude located just inside the infield as you make your way through the tunnel.  Beautiful tribute and memorial.

All in all we had a great time checking out all the displays, seeing friends and making new ones.  See you next year in Indy!!
